The good folk of hampstead could do with livening up a little. The road outside the wells tavern is startlingly quaint. It is very close to hampstead heath and close to both hampstead heath overground station and hampstead tube station. It was built in about 1849. Truly a wonderful hampstead pub.

The main draw is the food, which blends classics (calves liver, sausages and mash, lamb shank) with more modern european dishes. Cost £40 for two people (approx.) with alcohol. The water would have tasted awful but those who sold it probably said that the worse. The pub lives in a leafy hampstead street where one can only dream of residing.
